I booked all my accommodations to Vietnam with Booking but now I’m getting some messages on WhatsApp asking me to confirm my reservation or it will be cancelled.

I booked all my accommodations to Vietnam with Booking but now I’m getting some messages on WhatsApp asking me to confirm my reservation or it will be cancelled. Are they scammers trying to get personal info? I’ve replied to them to contact me via Booking only and I have blocked them. Anybody experienced this issue??

I got one at 4am originating in India asking me to confirm my reservation and card details for a hotel in Vietnam – responses to my queries were detailed and immediate even though it was the middle of the night SCAM

Everybody usually does their business over WhatsApp as it is free and with so many foreigners it is easier. You need WhatsApp to make your life easier. Embrace it and I have not found any scammers in 7 years. I’m Canadian.

I booked accommodation in hanoi and got a whats app message to click on link to confirm reservation. Booked via agoda, i cross checked with hotel on their whats app number, turns out it was a scam. So please don’t give any info or click on any link unless you are sure its legit.

I received one of these at 4am this morning. I messaged the hotel through the Booking app. They confirmed it was a scam and told me (twice!) not to click any links.

I got one two days ago. Never never ever give your info out!!! If you go back and read your confirmation from booking scroll towards the bottom. They actually warn us about this! I never bothered reading it before. Scam spread the word!!! And the link they send doesn’t say booking. They hope we won’t notice that either!

It’s not a scam. Most hotel rooms are owned my individual that rent the rooms out the person that message is most likely the owner of one of the rooms there. They should never ask for money or bank details through what’s app. Only payment on arrival. It’s perfectly normal here

Same thing happened to me yesterday for an Airbnb reservation and according to my host it’s a scam.
