I am planning to stay in Ho Chi Minh for 3 nights with my partner and 3 kids ages 9-14. My partner was to stay in district 1. Which starred area do you think is better for our family?

South star (backpacker hub), there are many restaurants & travel agency nearby, making it convenient for independent travelers/day trips.

We’ve stayed just above Ben Than market and throughly enjoyed the area.. walked to most spots or used a Grab if needed. Tons of great eateries in the area

The bottom star near Ben Thanh Markets is close to everything. You can choose to walk to places or take transport.

Have a look at Sherwood residence. It’s not tech D1 but it’s closer to the main area than the top star and they have a regular shuttle bus

Or you can stay in District 3 like Mai House, Sila. It’s near war museum, independent palace

If it’s a first time trip, I’d go District one as it’s closer to most of the main attractions and with three children will make things a little easier getting around
