How much cash do I really need for a day?

Hey everyone, I’m trying to stick to a tight budget. For a single backpacker, how much do you budget for a day, including food, accommodation, and some basic activities? What’s a good amount in Vietnamese Dong to carry with me?

A good rule of thumb is to budget between 500,000 to 750,000 VND per day. This is for a hostel bed, street food meals, local transport, and a few drinks. Always carry small denominations for street food and markets, but you can use an ATM for larger withdrawals.
