Our flight lands at Da Nang at 11:40pm and we are heading straight to Hoi An old town. Two of us, one big suitcase each.
My hotel quoted 450k for a private pickup, which feels steep but honestly the idea of wandering around looking for a Grab at midnight after a long flight does not appeal either.
Is Grab even running at that hour? Or are there drivers waiting at arrivals who do a fixed price to Hoi An? What did you actually pay if you did this run recently?
Also how long is the drive at that hour, half an hour with no traffic? Trying to decide whether to just pay the hotel and not think about it.

I would pre-book through the hotel to be honest. We landed at 1am, the Grab driver cancelled twice and we stood around for 25 minutes. 450k is on the high side though, most hotels do it for 350k. Ask them if that price is negotiable or check Klook, the airport transfers there were around 300k when I looked.

Replying to Paul Jawa @Paul Jawa The double cancellation is exactly what I am scared of. Did not think of Klook, going to check that now. 300k with a driver holding a sign sounds like the sweet spot between cheap and not standing around at 1am.

Replying to Jamie Eaton @Jamie Eaton We used Klook for exactly this. Booked the night before the flight, driver was waiting at arrivals with a name sign, 305k paid online so no cash needed at 1am. Van was clean, took about 30 minutes. Honestly after a long flight it was worth every dong not to negotiate with anyone.
Did this exact run last month, landed just after midnight. Grab was still running, took about five minutes to match, cost 320k to An Hoi. There were also guys at arrivals offering 400k flat, I just stuck with the app so the price was locked in. Took about 35 minutes at that hour, roads were empty.
