Hi, what’s the best clothing to wear for women whilst in Vietnam, shorts, linen trousers, dresses or just sports wear? Don’t want to buy holiday clothes if I’m not going to get to wear them because they’re not practical. Going in late May. Tia

Last July/August I preferred to wear light cotton dresses or RipSkirts with t-shirts or singles~ RipSkirts are the Best for travelling in hot climates
Linen or cotton knee length dress, trousers and shirt, lightweight and breakable clothes, sun hat. Notes: there are many different type of linens, find the thin and light one.
Light weight linen in light colours, trousers, tops and dresses.
Cropped trousers, long shorts, loose t shirts, dresses with arm coverings if visiting temples.
Loose linen/cotton cropped trousers, shirts

Spent a week in HCMC last April. I wore shorts about knee length the whole time and either tshirt or tank tops
I have just come back after a month there. I took way too much clothes. I think if I was to go back, I would take, 3/4 pairs of linen loose shorts and 3/4 cotton or quick dry t shirts for the day time. 3/4 cotton or linen trousers and 3/4 cotton loose smarter tops for the evening, some with long sleeves… in lighter colours because of mosquitoes. Underwear is easy to just hand wash and dry. While in central and south it was east to wash and dry clothes overnight.
Hat, umbrella, light weight clothes for humid days, wind jacket for northern vietnan as it gets colder at night, scarf for air conditioning, room in suitcase for shopping or tailored clothes in hoi ann
