Hi! This isn’t really Vietnam-specific, more of a general hotel etiquette question. We booked a hotel in Hanoi for 5 days, but on the 2nd day we’ll be heading to Sapa overnight and returning on the 3rd day. Should we let the receptionist at our Hanoi hotel know, or is it fine to just leave the “Do Not Disturb” sign on the door? Thanks!

Sapa for one day. It’s not worth the 9 hour each way bus.
We just put the do not disturb sign on the door!
Are you sure you want to pay for the night you are away? We are going to Hanoi for our first time next week. We breaking our stay for a two night cruise in Huong Bay – the hotel is holding our luggage for us, without charge (and we aren’t paying for those nights). Apparently it’s standard practice.
Hello, I am local guide in Sapa, if you interested about Sapa, you can contact to me. I think you should talk with reception.
