Hi everybody, in July our family will travel for the first time to Vietnam. We are struggling a bit whether we would stay in the north and central or also visit the south. We do have 3 weeks, so in theory we could. But have been reading so much mixed messages about the south in July that we don’t know anymore. Any experiences / recommendations from the Vietnam experts here 😊. Would love to ofcourse do the Mekong delta and Ho Chi Ming, but with flying in/out Hanoi, want to be sure it is worth going to the south in July. Appreciate your expertise a lot and looking so forward to visit Vietnam with my family 🙏❤️

I agree with Jim that three weeks is a rush to go 1650KM from tip to tip unless you enjoy running and just getting an overview
Hey Kevin Dieltjens! Honestly with 3 weeks you can totally do north, central and south! July in the south does get rain but it’s usually short heavy bursts in the afternoon and then it clears up, it’s not like it rains all day every day. HCMC and the Mekong Delta are still absolutely worth visiting and you’d kick yourself if you skipped them. The heat is more intense down south though so just take it easy during midday. I’d say fly from Da Nang or Hue down to HCMC to save time and do the south for maybe 4 or 5 days then fly back up to Hanoi for your flight home. Your kids will love the Mekong Delta boat trips honestly. These might help with planning each stop https://city-buddy.com/en/attractions/Vietnam/Hanoi and https://city-buddy.com/en/attractions/Vietnam/Da%20Nang and https://city-buddy.com/…/Vietnam/Ho%20Chi%20Minh%20City You’re all gonna have the best time! 🇻🇳
Don’t worry about it. Don’t make many plans. Just take a lot of ideas and make it up as you go. There will be somewhere in Vietnam that is ideal for you.
Here’s a good information for you. South in Da Lat for example doesn’t get very hot in June -July even… Different elevations and higher mountain areas are 22-24C whereas HCM City can be 38-40
Rainy season in Saigon is usually one big downpour in the late afternoon. It never rains all day
