Hi any ladies out there help !Why the best advice is please of wha to use to cover up for legs etc whenDoing temples etc do y really want to wear trousers all the time as it certainly looks warm in the next few weeks

I don’t understand wearing shorts during hot weather

If you want to avoid sunburn & mosquito bites (this is a tropical country), I can’t imagine wearing anything else other than long sleeved tops and long trousers. If nothing else it shows respect for the people of the country you’re visiting whether or not you go into temples or not. The way some tourists dress in these countries should seriously be illegal. I’m sure they wouldn’t go out dressed like that at home.
They sell the light wrap around (from waist) sarongs in Sri Lanka. Although I always wore cropped below the knee trousers. Haha! Just realised this is a Vietnam group! So Sri Lanka not helpful.
I carry a sarong everywhere when doing tours
Some temples have sarongs to cover, no bare shoulders and skirts/Dresses must be below knees.
Long skirts , harem pants , caftan tops , just because it’s long sleeved doesn’t mean it’s going to be hot .
I wear linen trousers or dresses to cover from the sun so I’m aways covered
Sarongs are lightweight and fold down to quite small, so easy to carry in a bag for situations like this.
Invest in a light sarong wrap. You can wear shorts etc., and carry the lightweight sarong rolled up in your bag. When required to cover legs, tie it around the waist. Also doubles as a good temporary cover up at the pool and beach. Vietnam is a modest country, best not to wander too far in swimsuit. Consider that some temples/pagodas require covered shoulders too. I usually carry a large silk scarf tied to the handle of my bag. This can be draped across the shoulders. It’s also handy to take along for evenings when sun goes down and I often feel the draught from AC if I go indoors. Hope this gives you some ideas. Items make nice souvenirs and bring back good memories after going home. Happy travels!
