Hey all, after some advice on what we need to add to the list when we go from Hoi An to Hue (to get the train to Ninh Binh)…We want to do the Hai Van Pass (maybe in an open Jeep?…is this wise and doable in May?), and stop at Lan Co Bay…lunch somewhere…then maybe in Hue look at some old buildings before dinner at a food market before being dropped off at the Train Station at 7.30pm…Anyone done anything like this before? Costs? 🙏

Take a look at my review/post. Back of motorbike is the way to go, hands down. Cris Nguyễn can handle everything for you, you mentioned above. Feel free to DM me
Cycled up Hai Van Pass late april from the Hue side. Up to 36 degr and the Jeep had the roof mounted to protect from the heat, ref pictures from my ride (linked). I would recommend a caer with AC
There a jeeptours doing this route, in May it can be very hot. But the jeeps have roofs to protect you for the sun. We’re normaly use a regular car with airconditioning as the drive is about 4 hours from Hoi An. Go as early in the morning to avoid the heat and to see sunrise over the Hai van Pass. Another option is the train from Danang to Hue over the Hai Van Pass, it’s spectacular trainride but not have sightsee stops. The bus is take the express way , so thats not a great option.
highlight recommend easy ride stop on the way
