   Yeah they’re not supposed to. There are devices and apps for smart phones to detect cameras, etc. I am not sure how well the apps work though. Basically an Airbnb host can only have cameras outside and noise decibel meter devices.

   Hotels are a better bet than airbnb in Vietnam from our experience. They are about the same price or better. Many include a hot breakfast as well. Especially the boutique hotels are quite nice.

   We recently stayed in an Air b n b in Dalat that had cameras. Air b n b were great. We had a refund and they paid for us to stay in a hotel of our choice for the duration. The host said they only look at the footage if something gets broken. But we weren’t informed, we didn’t sign a disclaimer and it wasn’t in the description. It says in the Air b n b rules cameras are not allowed.
