Has anyone had issues with baggage size on internal flights in Vietnam? We have 20kg limit on checked luggage but concerned that some airlines restrict the SIZE.

Smallest dimensions I could find when I looked at different airlines that fly internally were 158cm (adding L/W/D) and 20kg. Most medium cases are under those dimensions.
You’ll be right with checked.. make sure your carry on is 7KG.
