Monday i did apply for a E Visa , got an mail with “Portrait photograph incorrect (do not use passport photograph).”.
Now am trying a different photo and i got this “Portrait photo was captured from another source. Your application may be rejected. Please upload another photo, Match is 74%”

This l would put down to ‘lost in translation’ / poor website programming.

What does this mean and what to do ?
The portrait photo cannot be your passport photo.
Take a selfie (against a plain light coloured wall), upload that, and as said, it doesn’t even have to come close to ‘100%’.

The idea is to upload a recent photo.
The recent photo is not going to be 100% with the eight year old image in your passport.
Folks here have reported success with 40% match, or less.

I think, but it’s more a guess, they mean ” other than the passport” .
I think I read somewhere that people who use the same picture for the visa application which they used for their passport get a ” 100% match”.
