I’ll be arriving in a couple of weeks around lunch time and the hotel is on Nguyen Thuong Hien. Are taxis safe or is a private transfer or public transport the best, and am I likely to need cash or could I pay by card? Thanks

Yes 540000 is a lot for Vietnam maybe but I’m 77 with a dicky heart so it seems a safe and stress free option
“Hotel have quoted me 540,000 VND which doesn’t seem too bad…..”
No problem, happy to help when l can.
Hanoi Transfer Service will save you a few Dong on that, but in the whole scheme of things, it’s going to be very little.
But, they’ll also hold your name up. 😉

I only took a taxi because it was after 9pm,l did not know the area l was staying in and it was about 1km from the nearest bus stop.
540,000 is quite expensive. Bus is only 45,000.
Up to you.
Hotel have quoted me 540,000 VND which doesn’t seem too bad and less stressful having someone waiting with my name on a card after 2 long flights without any sleep
