I always added my CC, because with cash the drivers often try get more money or don’t have change or scam you and give you the wrong change. CC is safer.
Cash
Cash….always!
I paid cash
Add card to app is less worry and hassle
Input the info.. credit card companies now are really good at working with you if there’s any case of fraud.
Y”all do what you want.
I’m curious as to why many mentioned Wise card. I have not heard of Wise outside of this group. I might have seen an online ad for it here it there but otherwise, the name is unfamiliar to me. For those who use Wise, how did you first hear of it? What are the advantages of using Wise versus other cards that have no foreign transaction fees. Is it more secured? Do you mostly use your Wise card for Grab or also for in-person transaction in Vietnam? Do you use Wise card when traveling to other countries as well?
For the life of me, I can’t understand why you wouldn’t use cash instead of exposing yourself to credit card fraud. Particularly in another country. There’s no logical reason to give your credit card information to an app that is not a US based company. I’ve been using Grab in several countries in Asia for over 15 years and have always used it on a cash basis. No problems, no fraud.
I use cash but there’s a trade off. I’ve heard reports where people pay one price then they get their credit card bill and they’re charged more. On the other hand with cash you got to be careful as well because then they could take the bill and say you gave them the wrong bill and that it’s not enough (like say you gave them 500,000 and they take it then say you gave them only 50,000) Remember always check your bills. 500k is blue in color. 50k is red and smaller in size.
