Booked a return flight from the UK to Hanoi a couple of weeks ago and I’ve got so many great ideas from this group and YouTube videos and my Google map pin points is getting a little full!I’ll be travelling from the UK on 18th March and landing late afternoon on Thursday 19th. I’ll get 14 and a half days and fly back late afternoon on Friday 3rd April.Originally I was looking at the Ha Giang loop tour for either 3 or 4 days, then looked into tying it into a stay in Sapa for two days. But I think that’d take a big chunk of my time with travel.I’m now considering a couple of days in Hanoi (in case of jetlag), then down to Ninh Binh for a couple of days or longer(?); then train to Dong Hoi and find a way to Phong Nha to stay for a couple of days and visit a cave or two. After Phong Nha, back to Dong Hoi and train to Hue, stay in Hue for a day or two, then down to Hoi An for a couple of days… Then back up to Da Nang and fly back to Hanoi for a day or two before flight home.Do you think I’d be cramming in too much with Phong Nha and missing any better stops along the way?Gutted I’d miss the Ha Giang loop and Sapa, but I’d need an extra week for that I’d think! As I was writing this, an advert popped up on the TV.. next Saturday, channel 4 is launching a documentary with Bill Bailey in Vietnam! My plans may change! 🤭Thanks for any advice.

Yes there is so much to do. Don’t try to do it all. It’s not possible in 90days.
Look on tik tok I follow hallidaywithkate on tic tok. They’ve travelled Vietnam and have some great itinerary ideas and lots of tips and advice which is helping me plan my trip
You should visit Ha Long Bay first, then Ninh Binh – Phong Nha – Hue – Da Nang – Hoi An. Finally, fly from Da Nang back to Hanoi.
We have just done 3 wks travelling around Vietnam for my second time here and honestly ha Giang loop – nothing compares an I don’t even have the words to describe how incredible those 4 days were! Sapa was my favourite of all the places I went to. If anything don’t skip those two they were my absolute fav on this trip!
