   Phu Quoc. We were there last week and we are in Da Nang now. Pick a beach front hotel in Phu Quoc. We were at Sea Star Hotel in a beach front bungalow… excellent value and nice sandy beach with dinners under the palm trees. If you’re looking for more upmarket then Cassia Cottage looked nice and their restaurant was great.

   There’s no comparison. 2 totally different locations and vibes. I love Da Nang but would never swim there. Definitely head to PhuQuoc but factor in the flight cost. There are so many things to do there and as much touring the island as you want. As mentioned previously, would stay clear of Long Beach for swimming in the beach itself. I’m probably heading there for a couple of weeks in MAR 24 just to relax.

   Both are pretty mediocre for beaches but Phu Quoc if I have to choose for relaxation. Why? It has more of a holiday island vibe, more wildlife, national park to explore and easy to beach hop between beaches. Avoid the central area of long beach though. Tbh I think I’d choose An Bang or Con Dao as first options for beach holiday in VN.
