Ba Na Hills, 29th FebI know it always has mixed reviews, its a bit of a marmite destination! So I thought I’d review it from a pair of ‘oldies’ perspective.My main reason for visiting was the Golden Bridge, I’d watched enough clips on YouTube to know its fairly Disneyesque, so was prepared for that, but really didnt want the crowds.Here’s the thing, book a night at the Mercure on site. After a truly impressive cable car ride, we checked in at 2.15, were back out by 3 and after our free beers in the beer cellar, headed to the bridge as it was a clear day- fully expecting it to be rammed and would get my ‘before’ pictures. However, by 4.45pm there were much less people and we got some great shots. There are so many other things to see that are not theme park and at night when the hordes have gone back down, its beautiful and quiet.Hotel guests can access the bridge on a 6am, 6.30am or 7am cable car before they open to the public. We did the 6am with maybe 20 people so photos with no people were easy to do. The sunrise was spectacular.I can imagine that a day trip in summer could be vile, but stay the night and you may be pleasantly surprised.

I didn’t realize the Mercure was up there and that’s a great tip you’ve shared. We skipped it but will consider the stay up there next time.
