Are there any ride-hailing Apps or Taxi services comparable to Grab?

Are there any better or similar ride-hailing service applications available besides Grab? I attempted to use the Grab App but found myself completely perplexed by the ‘pickup’ locations; as a new arrival, you’re expected to intuitively know how to locate them. I became so disoriented upon landing—it was dark, late, and rainy—that I unfortunately resorted to using an unscrupulous taxi that ended up charging me double the standard fare. Any alternative apps like Grab or reliable taxi recommendations, especially for Da Nang, would be greatly appreciated?

Even when it’s not dark and raining and you know where you are supposed to find the driver ,using a Grab taxi from Danang International is an difficult task.

You will constantly be surrounded, harrased and distracted by “fake Grab drivers” making this a very unpleasant experience.

Anywhere else in Danang using Grab is very easy and hassle free but you can also use Xanh which is nowadays a good , reliable and sometimes even cheaper alternative.

Yes, don’t abandon it just yet. Generally Grab makes life much easier. If you can’t find your driver in town it is also easy to take a pic of where you are and send that through the app too.

If you do get one at the airport again never show someone claiming to be the driver your phone. Ask to see theirs to check they have your name and destination.

Grab at any of the Viet airports is a waste of time. Take a Mai Linh or Vinasun from the airport. I’ve had some issues with pickup points but I usually just type in the address on the “Contact your driver” place on the app. Inside some of the bigger cities the GPS sometimes gives me fits, especially around tall buildings and cramp side streets and alley ways.

Understandable! Grab pick up point in international airport is insufficient for first timers; you think grab is crazy for your experience then other apps hailing will spin your head for sure. Besides from airports, anywhere in Vietnam is very simple for Grab.

For the side notes, Grab in BKK airport is very good; Bolt drives me nuts 😂

@LuKhaLay Another important thing is you must have your data connection to your smart phone to track your Grab car on live is very “important.” I have mentioned it before on the forums. In DAD intl airport, I clearly saw my Grab approaching me and suddenly stopped and texted me claiming he couldn’t find me. First my reaction was he might have lost me; so, took a picture with background reference and texted him back. A few minutes later a car approaching and the driver showed me my texted picture, the driver name and my destination. How on earth would think twice all info showed me was legit. But with my usual doubts I checked the gps tracker, and saw the same car was idling exact spot as last time I saw that alarmed me. They are collaborating professionally in airport, just be aware of it.
