After nearly 7,000 km over around 3 Months, I have just about ‘Motorbiked Vietnam’! Calling at Hanoi, Bac Kan, Ban Gioc, Ban Ne, Ha Giang (+ Ha Giang Loop), Thong Nguyen, Sapa, Lai Chau, Dien Bien Phu, Mu Cang Chai, Tram Tau, Bac Yen, Mai Chau, Ninh Binh, Vinh, Phong Nha, Quang Tri, Khe Sanh, A Luoi, Hui, Hoi An, Son My, Tra Mai, Mang Den, Quy Nhon, Tuy Hoa, Nha Trang, Phan Rang, Dalat, Da Huoai, HCMC, Vinh Long, Can Tho, Soc Trang & back to HCMC. It’s been a fabulous journey, the people, the places, the food… If interested, you can view my video channel and the videos are organised into journey sectors as listed above (link in the comments for your reference) as it may be useful to anybody travelling any of these sector themselves by motorbike. Happy to answer any sensible questions 🙂

Australia is not a signatory of the 1968 Vienna Convention on Road Traffic, which means it is not possible to ride fully legally with an Australian license alone. While converting your license into a temporary Vietnamese license is an option, the procedure is complicated and time-consuming.

Looks like a well covered trip. Also a nice slow pace. Keen to see some of the videos

I did something similar last year. Do you feel you still missed so much?
