On Phu Quoc booking sites, “boutique” can mean a six-room family hotel in Sunset Town or an eighty-room renovated hotel on the main road in Duong Dong. Both are labelled the same way, and they’re nothing like each other.
I moved four times during my month on the island, north to south, and a lot of that month went on walking into hotels to look at rooms before deciding where to go next. These are the three boutique hotels in Phu Quoc I’d actually book for the money, one in each of the areas I’d base myself in, with what each one is really like, what it costs, and the catch. None of them is over $90 a night outside peak weeks, and two of them are a good deal less.
- Quick Answer: The best boutique hotels in Phu Quoc for charm and value are Luxor Boutique Hotel in Duong Dong (from about $22 to $85 a night, near the night market and a short walk to the beach), Soul Boutique Hotel on southern Long Beach (from about $69, with free use of the Sailing Club pool, gym, sauna and beach club), and Kim Boutique Hotel in Sunset Town (roughly $30 to $85, a six-room family hotel with ocean and fireworks views). Pick the area first, then the hotel, and book small places like Kim well ahead from December to April.
- The three, in short:
- Luxor Boutique Hotel, Duong Dong: the cheap, central one. Small pool, helpful staff, walk to dinner.
- Soul Boutique Hotel, Long Beach: the one with resort facilities, through the Sailing Club next door.
- Kim Boutique Hotel, Sunset Town: the small family one, with the view of the Kiss Bridge and the fireworks.
- Prices outside peak weeks: $22 to $85 at Luxor, from about $69 at Soul, $30 to $85 at Kim. Expect close to double over Tết and Christmas.
- Other boutique hotels worth a look: JM Boutique Hotel near Khem Beach, Sandora in Sunset Town, Marina Seaside on the marina.
- Before booking:
- Ask for an upper-floor ocean-view room in Sunset Town.
- Check where breakfast is served. At Soul and Kim it’s at a partner restaurant nearby.
- Some Sunset Town hotels take a cash deposit at check-in.
The 3 Best Boutique Hotels in Phu Quoc for the Money
| Luxor Boutique Hotel | Soul Boutique Hotel | Kim Boutique Hotel | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Area | Duong Dong, near the night market | Southern Long Beach, by the Sailing Club | Sunset Town, An Thoi |
| Size | Around 80 rooms | 58 rooms | 6 to 8 rooms |
| Price outside peak | About $22 to $85 | From about $69 | About $30 to $85 |
| Best for | A cheap, central base | Resort facilities without the resort price | A view, and being looked after |
| The catch | Small pool, town beach | Breakfast is down the path | Sunset Town is a long way from everything else |
What these three have in common is that each feels like a place someone cares about, at a price that’s a fraction of the big resorts. What separates them is the area, and on Phu Quoc the area decides more of your trip than the hotel does.
The island is 50km long, and the boutique hotels cluster in three places: Duong Dong and the northern end of Long Beach, the new developments at the southern end of Long Beach, and Sunset Town in the far south. I’ve put one of each here, and the area logic behind them is in where to stay in Phu Quoc.
Luxor Boutique Hotel: The Cheap, Central One in Duong Dong
- Luxor Boutique Hotel
- 100C/2 Trần Hưng Đạo, KP7, Duong Dong.

Luxor is a few minutes up Trần Hưng Đạo from the bungalow I started the month in, and I looked round it before my first move. It used to be the Nesta Hotel, it was renovated in 2025, and it’s the least boutique of the three in size, with around eighty rooms over four floors. What makes it feel smaller is the staff. They’re unusually helpful, they’ll sort out transport and tours at fair prices, and they’re the kind of front desk that holds onto something you left behind until you can get it back.
The rooms are clean and well kept, there’s a small pool, a gym, and breakfast with a sea view that’s better than it needs to be at this price. The beach is about three minutes’ walk away, the night market a couple of minutes by bike, and you’re surrounded by restaurants, shops and massage places, which is the whole point of staying in Duong Dong. Prices start at around $22 for a standard room, superior rooms are about $40, and the deluxe and executive rooms run $76 to $85.
The catch is the one that comes with Duong Dong. The beach in front of town isn’t the swimming beach, so you’ll be riding to Long Beach or further on the days you want to swim. For a first trip of four or five days, when you’re out on boats and day trips most of the time anyway, that matters less than being able to walk to dinner. I’d book a superior room or above, since the pool is small and the room is where you’ll spend your downtime.
Soul Boutique Hotel: Resort Facilities at a Boutique Price
- Soul Boutique Hotel Phu Quoc
- Lot B8-B9, Bãi Trường Complex, southern Long Beach.

Soul is part of the same group as the Sailing Club, and that’s the reason it’s on this list. Staying at Soul gets you into the Sailing Beach Club, a hundred metres away, and the Sailing Club Signature Resort, so the pool, the gym, the sauna and the beach club with its daybeds and music are all yours, at a room rate from around $69. I spent more than one long afternoon at the Sailing Club on Long Beach during the month, and it’s the best beach club on that stretch of coast.
The hotel itself has 58 rooms with a bit of an arty, free-spirited design, from king rooms with private terraces to twin rooms, and it smells lovely the moment you walk in, which sounds like a small thing until you’ve stayed somewhere that doesn’t. There are free bikes, an ice cream bar, and a sunset terrace. The rooms are spotless and the beds are good.
Breakfast is at the Sailing Club, about five minutes’ walk down the path, and it runs until two in the afternoon, which suits slow mornings. It’s not the best breakfast on the island for the price.
The other thing is the area. The Bãi Trường complex is new and still filling in, so the evening is mostly the Sailing Club itself, the resorts around it and whatever you ride to. If you’ll use the pool, the sauna and the beach club, it’s very good value. If you won’t, you’re paying for them anyway.
Kim Boutique Hotel: Six Rooms and the Fireworks in Sunset Town
- Kim Boutique Hotel
- 336 Sorrento 3 Street, Sunset Town, An Thoi

No relation to the bungalow where I started the month, and the last stretch of my month was spent here, at the southern end of the island. Kim is tiny, six to eight rooms, opened in 2023 and run by a family whose English is very good and who clearly enjoy having guests. The rooms are big for the price, new and very clean, with a lift to get your bag up.
The reason to book Kim is the view. From the upper floors, the ocean-view rooms look across to the Kiss Bridge and the stage for the nightly sea show, so the fireworks happen right outside your balcony. It’s about 200 metres to the centre of Sunset Town, the cable car to Hon Thom is a very short walk, and there’s a mini-mart just behind. At night it’s quieter than the streets nearer the bridge.
Breakfast comes as a voucher for a restaurant about a hundred metres away, which works fine but isn’t the place for vegetarians. Prices move a lot with the season, from about $30 for a standard room in the quiet months to the mid-$80s for the best ocean-view rooms in peak weeks.
With so few rooms it sells out, so from December to April I’d book it well ahead and ask for an upper-floor ocean-view room when booking.
The catch is Sunset Town itself. It’s a long way from everything else on the island, close to 45 minutes from Duong Dong, and it’s built for visitors, Italian-style streets and all. As a base for the boats out of An Thoi, the cable car and the beaches in the south, it’s excellent. As a base for the whole island, it isn’t.
Other Boutique Hotels in Phu Quoc Worth a Look
JM Boutique Hotel, D2-7 Bãi Khem, about five minutes’ walk from Khem Beach, which is the best beach on the island. The rooms are new, spacious and well designed, and it’s around $61. Service is slow and English is limited, so it suits independent travellers who don’t need much from the desk.
Sandora Boutique Hotel, on Milan Street in Sunset Town, is new, small and family-run, with a rooftop that’s very good for the sunset and the fireworks. Some packages include the cable car tickets, which takes care of a big part of a day in the south.
Times Corner Sorrento Boutique Hotel in Sunset Town is bigger and more of a regular hotel, with a cash deposit of 500,000 VND at check-in and a fixed breakfast of one dish and one drink.
Marina Seaside Boutique Hotel, on the marina at southern Long Beach, has infinity pools and good-looking rooms that are on the small side, at around $91. It’s the one I’d look at last of these.

How to Pick a Boutique Hotel in Phu Quoc
- Area first, then hotel. A lovely hotel in the wrong place costs you an hour on a bike every day. Duong Dong suits a short first trip, Long Beach suits beach time with things nearby, and Sunset Town suits a few days focused on the south.
- Season moves the price more than the hotel does. November to April is peak, and the same room can cost close to double what it does in July. Tết and the Christmas to New Year stretch are when small places like Kim fill up first.
- Ask which floor. In Sunset Town especially, the room number decides whether you see the sea and the fireworks or the building next door. It’s worth asking for an upper floor when you book and again at check-in.
- Check where breakfast is. A lot of boutique hotels in Phu Quoc serve breakfast at a partner restaurant or beach club down the road. It’s usually fine. It’s better to know before the first morning.
- Have cash for a deposit. Some Sunset Town hotels take a cash deposit at check-in that the listing doesn’t mention, usually around 500,000 VND.

Do Sunset Town boutique hotels include cable car tickets? Some packages do, Sandora and Kim among them, so it’s worth checking the room types before booking.
Two Hotels, One Trip
On a stay of five nights or more, I’d split it between two of these. That’s the single most useful thing my month taught me about where to sleep on this island.
| Your trip | Split I’d book |
|---|---|
| 4 nights, first visit | All four at Luxor |
| 5 nights | Three at Luxor, two at Kim for the south |
| 6 to 7 nights, beach time | Four at Soul, three at Kim |
| A week or more, couple | Half at Soul, half at Kim, and a day trip north |
If your trip isn’t one of those rows, the rule behind them is simple: one base in the middle of the island for the first part, and one in the south for the boats and the cable car at the end. How many days the island needs in the first place is in 3 vs 5 days in Phu Quoc.
