Hi, We are arriving at Ho Chi Minh tomorrow from Adelaide Australia and have a few questions. We are staying in the centre of District 1- What is best way for spending- wise card or cash ?- What is the best way for travelling? Taxis or public transport? If taxis, any apps? – Which are best places for teenage kids shopping, I.e. shirts, shoes, bags etc. Thanks

Grab app for transport and wise card linked is best. No need to handle cash and trying to find the right change after a trip. Tips can also be added via the app after a trip
Honestly we walked everywhere we wanted to go for us it was all pretty central. We used a travel card mostly and had cash that we changed over in good shops which worked well.
Hey Nauman, we are going at the end of April, im going to download grab like uber and attach a wise or my macquarie bank card too it. Have an awesome holiday, i cant wait to try all the different coffees . There are theme parks but not sure if in HCMC.
We used Grab for transport, we found the drivers spoke very little English and with grab they know where to take us and the price is set. We also used wise and cash.
Bring cash!! The exchange rate here is so much better than in Aus, we’ve been here 3 days and wish we’d brought AUD after seeing the rate at the airport compared to what we paid in Perth
Grab is supposed to be the best transport. Download the app and link your wise card to it
We are here now arrived last night. Cash is best can use card but lots of places add fee for it.
Download the Grab app link your card to it. It’s just like Uber. We used both card and cash
Shopping- steer clear of Ben tahn markets, overpriced head to “central market” head down the stairs great shopping and a huge food court that’s delicious
Cash is not always the best payment method in Vietnam.
