Good trip, tiring but satisfying. Food was good. Tebi our Tour guide was the best. Soft spoken, explain most things asked. Always smiling.
Good package, good food, christ statue visit is great be ready for some workout. Vung Tau beach itself is good rough waves but still enjoyable.
Best of all is our tour guide Tebi very friendly, helpful and great character.
Amazing trip while also having a relaxing day. tour guide took time to explain things and also very helpful and friendly with all of us
This was a terrific tour that we really enjoyed and would highly recommend to anyone interested in Australian military history in Vietnam. Our guide Jack was very amusing but also extremely well informed about the Long Tan battle and the various places close by relevant to it, and the Australian and NZ soldiers war experience there. He organised for us to pick up flowers on the way from a local market and then we had a moving little ceremony at the Cross it was well done I was very impressed. We were lucky enough to also be able to go inside the VC memorial cemetery on the way. A tunnel visit with no tourists by the caretaker guide was also a highlight. A delicious lunch followed by a trip to an enormous Buddhist temple was fascinating. Jack was extremely well prepared and organised and we learnt so much from him about Vietnamese history, current affairs and society. Well done Jack it was a very memorable day and you did a wonderful job. Also special mention to our lovely driver who was very quiet but very friendly and we felt completely safe on the hectic roads with him at the wheel. All in all excellent. Thanks for a great day out!
The history of long tan was sad and interesting the architecture and landscape was vast and beautiful and dingo (the tour guide) was very helpful in understanding the history
Dingo is a very funny, but also very respectful and knowledgeable tour guide. Theirs is a clear difference between someone who knows the history and information, versus someone who is attached to and feels very strongly about it.
We were taken to some of the different sites in the area surrounding the memorial, before visiting the memorial and the field near it. Once we were finished, we were then taken to a set of tunnels similar to the Cu Chi tunnels, though these tunnels were tall enough for above average height man to stand with his head slightly bowed.
Finally, we ended on a ‘Pub Crawl/Big Ears/Staggering Tour’, which was Dingo taking us to a local pub for a meal and drink. A fun trip, and particularly enjoyable if you are Australian, as he likes to use some Aussie slang.
The tour was a great experience and one I’d been looking forward to and was top of my list with coming to Vietnam. My grandfather served here in 1968-1969 and getting to walk across many of the places he did was quite a special experience for me.
Dingo was a great guide and showed me a lot of places specific to where he as a sapper would have been. From the Nui Dat Australian base to Long Tan and surrounds. Seeing the Long Tan memorial was the highlight. Dingo is full of knowledge and answered all my questions!
Well worth the tour, some say there is not much to see so not worth it. But if you are passionate about our countries service it is a surreal experience to be among fields around where the battle was fought and pay respects at the memorials. Guide was amazing and very passionate about the battle with incredible amoumt of knowledge about our involvement and does not take a vietnamese bias.
Our tour guide Chien was just lovely. He has a great wealth of
knowledge and he cares. His stories about the Vietnam war and especially the battle at
Lon Tan. It was really touching experience that Chien gave us all 2 roses one to place on each memorial. Thank you Chien.
Highly recommend.
Excellent tour with Jack who is extremely well researched and most of all made the day fun! Having a veteran in our family made the Australian experience even more special. Well done and highly recommended.
