I’ve just paid roughly £35 for five sports T-shirts/ gym tops, Nike / under armour etc so roughly £7 each. Cheaper than the UK and couldn’t ‘barter’ any lower. Have I been ‘ripped off’ by the little old Vietnamese lady who was a hard bargainer? 😂.

I kind of think you get what you pay for..the quality isn’t great nor should it be for $5. Fast fashion on its way to the landfill.
Always be some noggin who can get better prices and will say you’ve been ripped off.
That’s roughly what I’ve been paying in Thailand. I buy loads of gym stuff, if I find it doesn’t fit right when I get home i just sell on vinted!
first of all, you haven’t bought nike/under armour etc, you’ve bought fake copies – hence why it came to £35 but you paid the going price for the fake clothing so all good. You havent been ripped off
You can afford it mate.
Also did you get to Saigon square, they have good stuff also.
There is nothing wrong with bargaining. This is the way Vietnam merchants converse! You should not be chastised for it. It’s part of Asian culture.
Not bad mate, if you’re happy with it that’s an okay price.
Way I’ve always seen it is that I go in with a price I’d be happy to pay, and if they give me a discount I’ll usually just return it as a tip. I’m on holiday and having a great time, while they are dealing with cheapskates trying to rinse them every day.
Just pay the money you cheapskate. You got some god value sports clothes and you tried to bargain with some poor old lady who barely makes a living.
