If you have time and want to check put thec”feeling”, then you need to visit all 3 regions. People opinion is all over places. Some people LOVED the Northern area ( Hanoi, Halong, Ninh Binh, Sapa, Cao Bang…) Some didn’t care about that area but PREFERRED the Centra area ( Danang, Hoi An, Hue Nha Trang…). Some people ADORED Southern hospitality ( Saigon, Vung Tau, Mekong Delta, Phu Quoc…). They are so different. To be able to find your favorite places, you will need time to visit all of them. Keep in mind the weather will play a big role in your “feeling” too. Do some research on weather before making decision.

We are currently in Vietnam. 1st visit for silver wedding. Started with 2 nights in Hanoi. Crazy fantastic place but did organised jeep tour which was fantastic, beer street, train street, night market. Simply wonderful experience but weather was awful (wet and cold) moved on to 2 night Signature Royal Cruise Halong Bay. Again weather rubbish but still an amazing experience. Arrive Hoi An last night and oh what a difference in the weather. Doing a walking tour this afternoon and on the rear of a vespa tomorrow morning. Then off to Ho Minh City for Tet. Up to now just wonderful

Hoi An was lovely, lots to do around the town but I’d do day trips out to Da Nang, Ba Na Hills, Lady Buddha, Marble Mountain etc to break it up a bit.

Danang for sure, good for everything, I needed another holiday after Hoi An, full on noisy and the bars opposite the gorgeous restaurants were a nightmare, not relaxing in any way

Idk, I’m pretty disappointed with Hoi An so far. I don’t find many friendly people here. 🤞 hoping DaNang is better, we go there Saturday

I came for the first time and my 118th country last June for one month going from south to North and really enjoyed the Dalat and Hoi an but now I am almost 90 days here in beautiful Long Xuyen in the south which gives such a great local feeling of wonderful rural people and farming community and there’s almost no tourism yet which is wonderful I’m tracking some daily activities on my YouTube channel at advisor Danny and if you come this way I’m here until middle of March happy to have coffee together
