Hi everyone, I’m in Hanoi right now and trying to figure out what to do tomorrow. I’ve seen the Old Quarter already and loved it. Is there somewhere nearby that’s easy to visit for a day without too much planning?

The prison is very interesting- Hanoi Hilton.
Take a Day trip to Ninh Binh, I got a tour via my hotel, picked me up from my hotel. We explored Ninh Binh on bicycle (optional) took boat in Trang An and 500-step climb up Hang Mua (Mua Cave) Peak for panoramic 360-degree views of the Tam Coc rice fields and river.
Hop on hop off bus (small one is best) from lake, easily accessible from Old Quarter. Yes Water Puppet Show is good too, also near lake – show is less than one hour. We loved the Temple of Literature…lovely their café there (within temple grounds), they serve excellent egg coffee and rose coffee there.
Hi! If you’re staying in Hanoi tomorrow, you could visit Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in the morning to learn more about Vietnam’s history. After that, stop by Hoa Lo Prison, which is a very interesting historical site and not far from the Old Quarter.
