Hi all, im planning a trip from Saigon to Nha Trang, there will be 6 of us, adults no children (3 elders over 70s with mobility issues). My options are: Taking train (with our own beds and bunker); sleeping bus , or flights. Trains and busses will be 7 hrs one way vs 1.5 hrs flight. My friend; however, is begging me not to take the train. “Horrible” he said, in terms of cleanliness and chaos. Im leaning towards bus there and fly back. (So my husband can see the country more).Or is there a respectable car rental company with driver to take us there? One last question, do them busses stop for lunch along the way? Any thoughts, recommendations are welcomed. 🙏

I took a day train to Nha Trang once and it was fine…no need for a bed …there’s a nice dining car to sit in as well.
Chất lượng tàu hoả trong mấy năm qua đã được nâng cấp cực kỳ nhiều nên ko cần quá lo lắng về vấn đề vệ sinh đâu.

a rent car takes 5 hours from Saigon to Nha trang with lunch stop may be easier for the elders
Fly. Buses are sleeper buses, you’ll be close to lying down. No good for elderly plus bus travel here is, frankly, dangerous, they drive like maniacs and many are pumped up on meth. Just fly
No to the buses. Just fly. I just left HCMC to Nha Trang then to Danang. You might check around for a private driver with a luxury van. Then you have control of when you stop for bathroom breaks snd grabbing lunch. Unless your group is interested in the beach I didn’t find it interesting. Hoi An sounds more like a spot to be able to stroll town. I’m 74 and sidewalks are dangerous.
If you have elderly with mobility issues, the sleeping bus will be difficult to get in and out of the “bed”. In order to get into the “bed,” you’ll need to crouch down and crawl into the space and lie down but cannot sit up without hitting your head. Each bed is actually slotted for 2 people but is only enough room for 1 adult. You’ll need to buy 2 tickets to reserve the entire bed. My dad is 5ft 11in (181cm) and couldn’t straighten his feet the entire overnight ride. If you take a day sitting bus, expect the trip to be much longer than 7 hours due to traffic. I’m not sure if they stop for food. Also not sure if they have a toilet on board like the sleeper bus. I would rather fly to save time. The airline also provides assistance for those with mobility issues.
We’ve enjoyed both sleeper bus and train. I don’t what to say about other comments. Im 74 and use a stick. I cannot climb into upper level of sleeper bus
No to the sleeper bus. We tried it once. It was hot and noisy and cramped.
You can go on vexere.com and choose khanh phong bus company. They have big sleeping bus can start in the day or evening, almost 7 hours. It may not stop for lunch or dinner as I remember
