Danang is getting more international arrivals/departures than one may think, as its is currently a popular destination for Korean visitors.
Check the above link of Da Nang International Airport to have an idea on the number of inbound planes.
When I arrived DAD from HKG last October, i had to wait for about 30 minutes at the passport control checkpoint.
I arrived in Hanoi on 8th January and was through Immigration in 10 minutes.
Of course my suitcase was the last one out……🙄.

Hanoi was very busy, but they opened a load more desks, only took 30 minutes. Saigon does seem worse.
Yes can be paying $15 for nothing, then have to wait for your luggage.
DaNang is quite a small airport. Many flights are domestic.

Easiest way is to avoid SGN.
Hanoi was fine last year, I think I went to an empty window. Maybe Nha Trang next time.
Not in my experience.
Currently selling “Fast track access” for Vietnamese airports seems to be a big booming business driven by hundreds of fear mongering posts on social media…..
Some people are getting very rich at the moment….
I don’t remember it being bad at all.
