We are doing the drive from Hue to Da Nang in mid November and I keep seeing Lang Co mentioned as this beautiful lagoon and beach halfway along. It looks stunning in photos, all calm water and mountains behind.
Question is whether it is worth actually stopping, or if it is one of those places that looks better in photos than in person. If we stop, how long do you need, is it a lunch and a swim kind of stop, or a full afternoon?
Also practical: is the beach swimmable in November, and are there decent seafood places on the lagoon side? We are driving ourselves so no tour constraints.

We stopped at Lang Co on the drive and I am glad we did. The lagoon side has these simple seafood restaurants on stilts, we had grilled oysters and crab for almost nothing. The beach itself is calm and shallow, good for a swim. We spent about 2 hours there, lunch plus a dip, and it broke up the drive nicely. It is not a full day destination, but as a stop it is perfect.

Two hours sounds ideal for us. Is the beach swimmable in November though? I have read the central coast gets rough seas around then. And is parking easy near the beach?

November can be choppy on the open sea side, that is true. The lagoon is always calm though, and the beach near the lagoon mouth stays swimmable most days. Parking was easy, there is a big lot by the main beach access and the restaurant owners will wave you in. If the waves look rough, just do lunch on the lagoon and skip the swim.
