Has anyone here booked flights via Expedia – am about to book but they are not requesting passport details prior to payment? Is this usual? Thanks

They are troublesome….especially when things go wrong and you can’t talk to a human to sort things out….i have been bitten by using them and will never use them again
Better book direct with the airlines especially now in times of uncertainty. Trust me some of these 3rd party sites outsource their services to third world countries and if you have any issues, it’s very difficult to resolve it as compared with the airlines. I have already experienced this.
Be careful. I tried booking when they listed a good price. When I went to pay, and had entered all of my credit card details, the price suddenly increased substantially! I booked directly with another airline, which was actually cheaper!
I have before a few times, never any issues and dont ask for passport number – also recently booked directly through China Airlines and also havent asked for passport number
Always book direct through airline
If you book flight tickets through unfamiliar websites instead of the airline’s official website, you may not receive timely support when issues arise.
