I’m good with my GoogleFi and I travel international every other 2 weeks. I work for an airline.
On my t-mobile basic plan I get enough data and unlimited texting to suit me. Everytime the phone rings I get charged 75 cents. I turn off cellular to avoid these charges. With cellular off I make and receive wifi calls.
I depends on your phone. Check with your carrier.
I use eSIMS, and I rarely make phone calls on my phone. I use messaging Apps like WhatsApp and others to communicate while I’m gone out of the country
I am Canadian and my roaming costs $16 Canadian per day. I bought a 30 day 3gb/day data only esim plan in a small shop in Da Nang for 330,000 VND that’s about $17 Cdn. Much better deal.
In my experience, the American carriers don’t have consistent connection in Vietnam . See what you think when you get here and if it’s bad enough, then just get an eSIM at a local provider . I went with viettel and no issues
If you have an international roaming plan with your provider that includes calls and data then no need for an eSim.
