Hi ….. If we fly to Hanoi and want to do Sapa and Ha Long Bay, would it be better to book hotel in Hanoi ( stay a couple of nights ) travel to Ha Long Bay and leave our luggage at the hotel ( in Hanoi ), then come back from cruise and pick up luggage and then go to Sapa for thee nights before getting sleeper train to Da Nang – any help will be muchly appreciated

   That’s what we are doing but we did get a cheap package deal & only using hotel the 1st couple of nights.

   It depends on your hotel’s policy about luggage storage. If they allow you to leave your luggage there, then yes, it’s a good plan 🙂
