Bought 5gb daily on the trip website from viettel, it’s pretty bad, super slow and be aware that the hotels internet are also extremely bad.
I think Viettel is the best if you are staying in Vietnam. We have Airalo which works great as we tend to spend time in lots of different countries😂
Use Trip….travelling though Thailand and Vietnam has been so easy and cheaper than all of the above. The rest of my group dont have as much signal as me
I used a Viettel eSIM booked through Gigago. It worked in even. The most remote places along the north border when I was on Ha Giang and Cao Bang loops, highly recommend!!! I got a 30 day sim, I used maps/ WhatsApp (for calls too)/ fb and ig 👏🏻
Can you buy Viettel eSIM online before your travel or only when I arrive to Vietnam
Used Viettel for month of January. eSIM. Absolutely flawless coverage no matter how remote we were.
Airalo was easy to set up and works well in Phu Quoc, Hue, and Hoi An. It might be a bit more expensive than other options. Use the discount code EDDIE4504 to make it a little cheaper. I thought I would need 50 GB, but since there is WiFi at the hotels, I’ve only used 10 GB in 12 days.
Local SIM cards are usually the best and cheapest option, no matter where you are in Southeast Asia. You can choose how long you want the SIM to be valid and select the amount of data depending on how much of an “Instagram person” you are.

We travel full time and without a doubt the eSIM that works the best… is the one that comes from that country. Viettel has great network coverage and speeds.
