i just did for 4 days in a row. never looked like being picked on . from district 1 to district 4 no issues and spent few hours around district 8
Yeah. Vietnam is very safe. 5 times there walking around in many cities at night never had the minimum problem.
Definitely feels safer than being in uk
Safer than in the US or Canada
Yes, but leave your wallet/purse/passport/jewelry at your hotel especially if you are going out drinking. Take some pocket money and your phone and go. Saigon in general is very safe but in District 1 the tourist areas there can be some petty theft like pick pockets or motorbike phone snatchers or shady bar girls.
Google international crime stats. Vietnam is one of the safest countries in the world.
I’ve been solo for 2 months in Thailand and now in Vietnam. I just left HCMC. The scariest 2 things are falling or tripping from uneven sidewalks. The other is the motorcycles. They drive on sidewalks, alleys and streets. Check twice before walking across and try to use a marked crossing otherwise you look for a small break and walk right into traffic. Do not stop when crossing. They work around you and count on you to keep walking. Wait for a local to cross with if you don’t have nerves of steel. Seriously that’s what’s dangerous but not walking alone is fine.
Compared to which city?
Its safe to walk around there at any time.
Anywhere in Vietnam is safe to walk around … I have been travelling for a month solo and as a woman not once felt scared or concerned 🥰
