Heads up, travelers! ⚠️✈️Recently, there’s been a common scam going around that seems linked to leaked data from booking platforms. Some people have received WhatsApp messages about their reservations with Booking(.)com (like in the photo). Please remember: Booking(.)com, Agoda, Hotels(.)com, Airbnb, and other legit platforms will NEVER contact you via WhatsApp. They only communicate through:✅ Their official app or website✅ Verified email addresses linked to your accountIf you get a WhatsApp message claiming to be from Booking(.)com (or any booking platform), don’t click any links and don’t share your personal details. It’s very likely a scam.Stay alert, double-check everything, and protect your information.Safe travels everyone! 🌍💛

I got one yesterday and just contacted the hotel directly to check. All a scam.
Have also received a few of these WhatsApp messages with all our details – data leak from booking or the hotel ?? Reported it to both
I received one just like this today also!
I used booking dot com for the first 2 months of our trip and then got scammed with a booking in HCMC. Started using Agoda based on advice from this group and have not had any issues the last month with any of my bookings.
I’ve already gotten 2 of these!!!! So annoying.
We get these types of scam messages all the time from Booking. Their security must be the weakest ever.
This just happened to me yesterday. I was contacted through WhatsApp number with a person claiming to be the back end processor to confirm the (already) confirmed booking on booking. Com. They wanted my CC number. I kept the chats active until I completed my call with booking.com. They called the property in Ninh Binh to confirm it wasn’t them. So the scam hackers had my phone number, dates of stay, booking ID and name. Their Falbkotel link has a fake booking.com logo and the wrong amount. Here is what it looks like, an active scam in operation:
Note mine was not from the booking platform (Expedia) but appeared to be from the hotel. I am really annoyed as they had all my details and when I was staying – not good enough Expedia!
Katie Gordon I got this on what’s app this morning
I received one last night 🤬the sender was Swisse from India!! I was pretty pissed off that they had my name and hotel details!! I reported it as spam and blocked it !!
