Often travellers with various stomach upsets etc, need a toilet in 2mins, waiting 2hrs is not possible, as anybody who has had diarrhea will know
Nobody wants to use a toilet on a bus, but if you have to, its far better than the alternative 🙂
Buses stop every 2 hrs for bathroom breaks. No need for smelly toilets on the bus. I only use the bus during the day. You could train to NhaTrang and take a day bus to DaLat. A beautiful drive.
“I trust the airlines won’t sell tickets to Da Lat for the months the airport will be closed, basically a lot of 2026.”
This is a valid point to note. In the grander scheme of things, this would be the best choice.
I agree on avoiding Vietnam roads at night if you can help it. A “sleeper” bus during the day is a far better option. FUTA is well regarded and I have only had positive experiences.
In terms of a bathroom, I don’t know of a company that operates with one. They tend to make stops, which i prefer. Have you tried to use a toilet on a bus dodging traffic on a highway or a mountain road?
It’s far from a pleasurable one…..
There might be VIP van/limo options. Especially with the airport closed, there might be more options than you will know of simply channeling through the internet. I would coordinate with your accommodation in Hoi An as they will no best and can arrange this for you.
Safe travels
I trust the airlines won’t sell tickets to Da Lat for the months the airport will be closed, basically a lot of 2026. I would never have noticed, but apparently the airport needs a lot of work.
IF that’s the case, there’s not that much left. Daytime bus?
thank u so much guys, no bus then. will take a flight instead.
#3 “the only company I trust is FUTA bus” I don’t !! I recall getting a Futa day bus back from Can Tho to Saigon. The driver insisted on watching movies on his iPad propped up on his dashboard whilst driving. When I and some other passengers asked him to put it away he refused so we removed to and held on it until we reached Saigon. A few weeks later I met with the Futa CEO at a function and mentioned this to him. He just shrugged his shoulders and could not have cared less.
In decades of travel in the country, I have always avoided night buses and only use day buses when absolutely necessary. The road safety stats are stacked against you in Vietnam. That said , you appear to be from India where IME it is much the same!
Like most people who have been traveling a lot in Vietnam I never use a night bus and can therefore not recommend one.
Not sure whether VIP buses with toilet onboard actually exist in Vietnam.
I sometimes use buses daytime for shorter distances and the only company I trust is FUTA bus. They are reliable, buses are clean, staff usually friendly and they drive safely.
They operate from Danang to Dalat but its not luxury.
You should definitely consider the direct flight from Danang operated by Vietnam Airlines ( or Vietjet) .
It’s comfortable, cheap, toilet on board and takes about 60 minutes….
+1 for no long distance sleeper buses at night – dangerous!
I wouldn’t recommend a sleeper bus at all.
