Probably the better question would be which hotels will not let you smoke on the balcony.

I think I have only stayed in one hotel that didn’t allow it throughout the whole country.

I would email the hotel you are interested in and just ask.

Yes, you will often see an ashtray on outdoor table of balcony even a non-smoking room. 🤔

If I see them put on a new pair of gloves before preparing my food, that’s a plus. Sorry I couldn’t go back and edit for some reason the first response. Hope that helps and I hope you have a fabulous trip. I’m Sure you will !

Honestly, I’m not a big fan of street food. I don’t always stomach it well. The restaurants with the little chairs and little tables tend to be okay. But when I walk into an establishment I always look at the cleanliness first. Also check Google reviews on restaurants. Look for westerners reviews. I live in Vietnam half the year and so my wife looks out for me as far as what I can and cannot eat. She is vietnamas born and raised here. I’ve eaten snake, mice all kinds of off the wall Vietnamese cuisine. And I’ve never had a food poisoning issue. But they’ve always been from clean establishments. Which is why I have one issue with street food. Where do they go to the restroom and where do they wash our hands? But if I do eat street food if they have gloves on that’s a plus.

Probably most of them. Unless you go to the Hilton Curio, or something of the like. Most Vietnamese owned establishments allow smoking. We go to Vietnamese restaurants all the time and people are smoking. But I’ve been to several hotels where they don’t allow smoking in the room, but there’s ashtrays already out on the balconies. Send the hotel in question. An email is probably the best way.
