Guidance for an Upcoming Vietnam Trip – November 2025

Hello,

We are a well-traveled, active couple in our 60s, scheduled to land in HCMC late on November 1st and depart early on November 18th. We leverage our extensive loyalty program memberships and status, which annually provides us with fantastic trips, hence we focus our stays around Bonvoy properties and our preferred airline alliances. Given this, we plan to utilize 5-night stays in both HCMC and Hanoi, capitalizing on the “fifth night free” points benefit. While some might find this unusual, we are perfectly content with taking day excursions from a “base” in a major city hotel.

This arrangement accounts for 10 nights, leaving us with 7 nights remaining. Initially, we considered inserting Danang/Hoi An, but the weather projections for November appear unfavorable there. We are now considering the Mekong Delta. I’ve noted a Sheraton in Can Tho and another in Phu Quoc; would staying at both of these locations be advisable?

A bit about us: We enjoy walking extensively, covering many miles daily. I am a photographer drawn to local colors and textures. We also share a fondness for nature, wildlife, and scenic views. My husband has an interest in some of the War history sites, which might be why Danang was initially appealing to him.

Finally, we are decidedly NOT food enthusiasts (I realize this is quite rare, but due to certain issues, we have very restricted diets 🙂 )

Your thoughts on potential additional locations for the remaining time are greatly appreciated. We intend to fly between destinations unless they are geographically close. Thank you!

Sheraton in both places are excellent choice since you are not into foodie. Both are used to be owned by Vingroup later sold it to Marriott int’l. Sheraton is under Marriott. I had been in Sheraton Can Tho, is very luxurious, the Starbucks coffee in lobby made a hole in my wallet 😅.

Anyway, still a good pick and cheap compared to US. it is in Civic center area and closer to floating market. I have never been to Sheraton in Phu Quoc, beach in northern part is famous for calm and quiet.
