Hello everyone, I am finalizing plans to travel from Hanoi to Sapa between September 24th and September 28th. My accommodation will be at the Pao’s Sapa Leisure Hotel. While my itinerary is still in progress, I need some guidance: Is late September a good time to visit Sapa, or should I consider cancelling the trip and staying in Hanoi due to the potential for typhoons or heavy rainfall?
Here are the activities I currently plan to include, intending to rent a motorbike for transportation:
Day 1
- Cat Cat Village
- Sapa Stone Church
- Sapa Central Lake
- Sapa Night Market
Day 2
- Sun World Fansipan Legend
Day 3
- Muong Hoa Valley
Day 4
- Silver Waterfall
- Glass Bridge
- Explore surrounding villages: Y Linh Ho Lao Chai Ta Van Village
Your assistance and advice are greatly appreciated!
Thank you very much!

If a typhoon is approaching Hanoi, you may want to re-evaluate your plans anyway.
Worse case scenario you head south, as in HCMC south.
You really don’t need or want a detailed hour by hour itinerary in Sa Pa.
Better to wake up each day and make it up as you go.

Speaking of Tropical weather systems:
It just started pouring rain here, with a few minutes of high winds
