Hello everyone,
My family is intending to reserve our tickets for April next year. We previously flew Vietnam Airlines on the London Heathrow – Hanoi – Da Nang route (and return) this year. Last year, we made our booking around November. We are currently looking to book identical flights for next year, but the current prices appear significantly higher. Does anyone have insight into whether these fares typically drop closer to the travel date?
Thanks in advance

I am finding the same the price of flights have more than doubled. Not happy
You could consider breaking the journey in the middle east.
With Qatar Airlines I got Edinburgh-Doha-HCMC and Hanoi-Doha-Edinburgh for £720.
That’s for February.
I tend to book around 6 weeks before flying. Prices do go up and down, even weekly. Looking at April 2026. Prices to Hanoi 11th £631.84 12th £454.48. Big difference. Return wise though there doesn’t seem to be much difference between the days. I tend to look for the cheapest over a week.
If you’re sort of stuck as to when you can go, its a case of grin and bear it or look elsewhere.
Take a look at Singapore Airlines from Amsterdam, we payed around 750€ return with only 1 stop in Singapore.
Worth to fly to Amsterdam.
I Always try to book as soon as possible for the best price
The flights will only reduce if seat sales are low. If popular they’ll increase in price.
If travelling in April you could be clashing with the UK school Easter break, which tends to bump most flight prices up when flying from UK airports.
