We are a family of four, including children aged 9 and 4, planning our inaugural trip to Vietnam in April 2026. Our flight arrives in Hanoi and departs from Da Nang; we have consciously chosen to skip Ho Chi Minh City. Could you please review and validate this draft schedule regarding the duration spent in each location? Would you suggest allocating more or less time in any specific city or area? Any feedback would be greatly valued. Thank you.
Note: I have not yet secured any accommodation or cruise bookings.

I’d still steal a night, or two, from Danang, and add to Ninh Binh.
And probably steal an extra one for Hanoi, too. 😉

I would shorten your time in Da Nang, and add a night or two more to Ninh Binh.
Otherwise, looks fine and managable.
What do you intend to do in Nihn Bihn, by the time you check in and check out you will have only a few hours to fit in maybe a boat ride. I don’t think it would be worth the time effort and money for such a short period of time so I would either miss it out completely and add a day to Hanoi or Da Nang or alternatively take a from one of those 2 and add to Nihn Binh, these days probably take a day from Da Nang, but when my kids were the age of yours probably from Hanoi.
