I’m a solo female traveler in my 20s. I’ve heard amazing things about Vietnam, but I’m also a little worried about safety, especially when I’m out at night. Is it really as safe as everyone says? What are the no-go zones?

Hi Lucy, that’s a smart question. While Vietnam is generally safe, it’s not without risks. The biggest thing is petty theft, especially bag snatching on motorbikes. Keep your phone and bag secure. At night, stick to well-lit, busy areas and avoid walking alone in secluded alleys. Trust your gut. If a situation feels off, it probably is. Just use Grab for late-night rides and you’ll be fine.
