베트남 호텔에서 여권 원본을 맡기는 게 일반적인가요?

다음 달에 베트남 처음 가는데, 어떤 후기에서는 체크인할 때 여권을 맡겼다는 얘기가 있고 어떤 곳은 사본만 봤다고 해서 헷갈려요. 호이안하고 다낭 호텔 예약했는데, 여권 원본을 맡기는 게 보통인가요? 사본을 미리 준비해 가면 원본은 안 맡겨도 되는지 궁금해요. 분실이 걱정돼서요.
