We requested a private tour with an ENGLISH speaking guide in a private car between 0900 and 1500 hrs. We advised what we wanted to see and not see. They (Ms Phuong) said 0800 and then changed to 0745 with no clear explanation as to why. The guide sadly could not understand (my) English, so my wife was forced to translate. He was, however, a very good photographer. The venues we visited were interesting and enjoyable. The lunch was very good but enough for 8 to 10 people, so a lot of waste, sadly. The driver was using his phone too much for calls and even texting during the trip. Not unusual in Vietnam.
Our tours with Thich were fantastic! Thich was a great guide, and the tours were interesting. On our first tour, we visited a conical hat-making village, rice wine village, and temple. We enjoyed every location, especially the hat-making. Mr. Lan is a talented artisan, and his hat-making skills are impressive. Our second tour included a salt village, Tu Son Island, and Da Dia Reef, all of which were beautiful and interesting! I highly recommend Thich tours for a fun and memorable experience!
Thich was amazing!! We had only been in Vietnam for a few hours and booked a private tour with him to see a few Champa temples outside of Quy Nhon city. We came to the area because we wanted to learn more about the history of the temples and Thích was such a knowledgeable guide! He taught us so much about the Champa and Vietnamese cultures, the history throughout multiple wars and its affect on the country, influence of outside forces on the Buddhist practices and so much more. It was such a rich way to see already incredible structures with a guide who could go deep in the history and tell us all the stories. As two people from the States who speak no Vietnamese, Thích could clearly articulate anything we wanted to know and we appreciated his help navigating the sites.
In between temples, we stopped at a delicious spring roll restaurant where he showed us the proper way to build our own spring rolls and encouraged us to try unfamiliar foods.
Not to be ignored, the driver was great and had a nice, clean car and provided us with plenty of water throughout the hot day.
I only wish we had found his company sooner to book more than one tour with him – we really enjoyed his guidance and his companionship throughout the day.
Ms Yen (Alluvia, Hoi An) while casually listening to me about my interest in visiting Champa towers in Quy Nhon, was kind enough to give me a contact for a private tour. Before coming to Viet Nam, I did some research, and made a map with all towers that are spread over the Quy Nhon area, knowing that at least one could be out of reach. I contacted Mr Thick and, after forwarding my map, in a few minutes arranged a custom-made tour that covered almost all of them. I arrived to Quy Nhon and Hanna was my guide, ans together with the driver, we hit the road. I fell in love with the Champa culture after visiting Mỹ Sơn a while ago, and this time decided to look for more. We were able to visit all towers, except one that did not allow us because of trespassing private property. So, I was able to notice some details that differentiate them from constructions spread all over the northern region of Siem Reap (Khmer culture, Cambodia). There was a phase when these two kingdoms shared a part in history. In all, it was a complete lecture on early Vietnamese culture. Now, I really wish that Vietnamese people start appreciating with pride of their past. I am also happy that some fellows had a similar interest as mine before.
Amazing private tour of Champa tower and village/cultural sites. Our guide Thich was the best guide we have had in Vietnam with excellent language skills and interpersonal skills. Great to hear about Champa history and sites and as importantly hearing about life in Vietnam for the oldet and younger generations. Highly recommend
We had an incredible tour in Quy Nhon with Thich, who was a superb guide, sharing his deep knowledge of the history and culture of the Binh Dinh province. The tour began with a visit to a local rice wine producer, where we learned about the traditional process and sampled different grades of wine. Next, we stopped at a skilled artisan renowned for crafting Nong La (Vietnamese straw hats) using techniques passed down for generations—a fascinating experience. Our final stop was the Banh It Cham Towers, where we hiked to the highest tower and learned about their rich history and construction. Thich’s passion and expertise made this tour a fantastic way to immerse ourselves in the region’s culture. Highly recommend!
Thich was a fabulous guide who speaks excellent English. He was both friendly and knowledgeable, making the tour very comfortable. We loved learning about Vietnamese history, as well as modern culture. The tour was the highlight of our time in Quy Nhon.
Our tour was cut short by a flight delay but in spite of that Hana did a wonderful job showing us around and explaining things to us. We also enjoyed an excellent lunch a local restaurant before we had to head to train station. We really appreciated Hana who made our brief visit memorable and very enjoyable
It was very much appreciated that the tour took place even if the only costumers were my wife and me.
Before booking online, we tried to book through 2 travel agencies in Quy Nhon and they didn’t do the tour for us (either they didn’t have an English-speaking guide or they wanted a larger group).
Trang, our guide, was very forthcoming and tried to accommodate our needs and wishes. She did a very good job and we thank her a lot for the nice day and the delicious vegan food she provided for us.
We recommend her for your next trip.
Thich was an exceptional tour guide. Very knowledgeable of the area having grown up in the region. He is also very friendly and spoke excellent English. Would highly recommend this tour if staying in the Quy Nhon area.
